Oregon Two-Year-Old Halter Futurity
ELIGIBILITY
The owner of any Arabian mare registered with the Arabian Horse Registry
of America may participate in the AHBAO Futurity by complying with these
rules
OFFICIAL SHOW
The Arabian Horse Breeders Association of
Oregon Spring Classic Horse Show held in April will be the official show
for the AHBAO Futurity classes. Entries MUST BE POSTMARKED OR RECEIVED
by the CLOSING DATE FOR SHOW ENTRIES. It is strongly recommended that
the Futurity Certificate along with final payment be sent
return-receipt- requested to the show secretary.
THREE CLASSES
There
will be three classes for the futurity, one each for 2-year-old colts,
2-year-old fillies, and 2-year-old geldings. The first futurity will be
held in 1964, then annually thereafter. Entries in the Futurity class
may enter the show's regular 2-year-old classes. Winnings in the
Futurity class do not make the entry eligible to compete for show
championships.
ENTRY FORMS AND
PAYMENT
Nomination forms may be obtained from the AHBAO Futurity chairperson or
downloaded from
www.AHBAOregon.com
(click here). Mail these
entries, along with the fee payments, to the Futurity chairperson. All
checks should be made to the AHBAO Futurity. Futurity Certificates will
be provided for subsequent re-nomination use and for the Show Entry
REFUNDS
Refunds of initial fee (paid in the year of breeding) will be made only
in the event of a foal being stillborn, or in the event the mare proved
not to be in foal. A veterinarian's statement should be sent to the
Futurity chairperson, along with the Futurity certificate.
FEE DISBURSEMENT
Total monies, except for the cost of trophies, ribbons, and mailing
costs, become prize money for the Futurity class. The Futurity
chairperson will maintain records for the Futurity.
1. The
Futurity will be classed as an extra event, complete in itself.
2. No
Futurity win will make any horse eligible, on that win alone, for
regional or national championship classes where
a show championship or
reserve championship is a qualification for entry.
3. To
be eligible for the Futurity honors and prize money, your entry only has
to be shown one time, the year of the AHBAO Spring Classic when your
entry is a two year old. You may show your horse any time prior to, or
for the first time, in the futurity class.
4. In
the event that a foal is sold before the Futurity class, Futurity
eligibility is transferable to the new owner. The seller should provide
the entry certificate, and Futurity information, to the new owner. The
new owner must pay the fees when they come due to keep the horse
eligible.
5. Horses
are to be shown under the current USEF rules for Arabian Horses.
6. $50
ADDED TO EACH FUTURITY CLASS WITH ENTRIES AT SHOW TIME: Change
effective in 2013.
7. CLOSING
DATE: As soon as any fee in the schedule below becomes past due, that
horse is no longer eligible for the futurity, and the owner forfeits any
fees paid up to that time, except as noted below. No horse can be made
eligible for the futurity after foaling by payment of the entry fee.
8. LATE
PENALTY: If a renomination fee deadline as shown below is
missed, a penalty of $100, in addition to the renomination fee, will be
accepted. If more than one year's renomination is missed, $100 per
renomination year missed must be paid to continue in the program (i.e.
foaling and yearling year missed=late penalty of $200, plus renomination
fees, or $230). Also, a $100 penalty will be added if entry fee is not
received by closing date of entries for futurity classes at the AHBAO
Spring Classic Show. If the penalty fee is not paid, the nominee will
be dropped from the program without recourse.
