“THE RIGHT LEAD”
Excerpts from the
April 2008 AHBAO Newsletter
AHBAO Trail Ride/Campout –
Co-Chairs Kathy Nelsen/Bev Nadeau.
The AHBAO trail
ride and campout will again be held at Silver Falls State Park, near
Silverton. July 24-17, 2008. The fee for camping will be $22 per night
for AHBAO members and $27 per night for non-members. You must
reserve your spot and pay in advance this year. Contact Kathy
Nelsen (360) 798-2821 or Bev Nadeau (503) 347-5594 for reservations. The
following is the information they will need from you. Name, address and
phone number, the number of people in your party, number of horses,
(sorry no stallions overnight) the number and type of vehicles
(pick-ups, camper, horse trailer, etc.} how many nights will you be
staying. Kathy and Bev have reserved all the campsites at the Howard
Creek Horse Camp. The park has strict rules in using the campsites. To
assure that their rules are followed they will need to have you make
contact with them as soon as possible so you may get your favorite site
reserved. Once again all campers will be treated to a salmon bake/pot
luck, on Friday evening, July 25, a cowboy breakfast on Saturday
morning, July 26, a BBQ/pot luck on Saturday evening July 26 and a
cowgirl breakfast on Sunday morning, July 27. All this, plus great fun
trail riding, biking, hiking or just sitting around the campfires.
